Meet our 2026 University & TAFE Scholarship Recipients

Jenna Harvey
Jenna is our first mature-age student to receive a Community Bank Scholarship! She grew up in Lockington, and now lives in Rochester with her young family. Many of our locals will be familiar with Jenna from her work at Rochester Community House and Rochester Secondary College. Both roles have a huge focus on the wellbeing, social connection and health of our community members.
With this in mind, Jenna has made the exciting decision to pursue further study for the first time and has been accepted into a Bachelor of Health Studies at La Trobe University Bendigo. The course will further develop and strengthen the already impressive skills she brings to the field.

Archie McLachlan-James
Archie is a Rochester-girl who has always held a strong interest in the community. Finishing school in Year 11, Archie has worked hard to create opportunities for herself – working part-time with Cohuna Campaspe LLEN and Rochester Community House, which has provided a great foundation for her future aspiration of becoming a Social Worker,
This year, Archie will travel to GoTAFE in Shepparton twice a week to complete her Certificate IV in Community Services.

Jordy Rasmussen
Jordy is a Rochester local with a keen interest in sport – representing our community in football, basketball and cricket. He graduated from Rochester Secondary College last year, where he was a College Captain.
Jordy has been accepted to the University of Melbourne where he will study a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Mathematics.
Jordy moves to Melbourne next week and will live on campus for the first year of his studies.

Matisse Martin
Matisse comes from Ballendella and graduated from Rochester Secondary College in 2024. She took a gap year last year, working at Rochester Primary School – where she reaffirmed her passion for working with children to reach their full potential.
Matisse will commence a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) at La Trobe University in Bendigo this year. She plans to commute to Bendigo throughout her 4 years of study so she can continue working part-time and playing sport locally.

Lily Peake
Lily comes from Rochester, graduating from Rochester Secondary College in 2024. She has since been working in support services at REDHS – which she has been loving, and has ultimately led her to the decision to pursue a career in the health space.
Lily has been accepted into a Diploma of Nursing at TAFE in Bendigo. She’ll remain living in Rochester and travel to Bendigo over the next 2.5 years to complete her course whilst still working part-time at REDHS.

Tayla Turri
Tayla lived in Ballendella throughout her secondary schooling years, and attended St Joseph’s College in Echuca. Taking a gap year in 2025, Tayla worked with the Royal Australian Air Force.
This year, Tayla has moved to Townsville to complete a Bachelor of Marine Science at James Cook University. The knowledge and experience she gains in this field will not only shape her own future, but have the potential to benefit regional communities like ours – particularly in areas of environmental sustainability, water systems and natural resource management that are so important to our district.

Oakley Tarrant
Oakley is a Rochester local who has already built up an impressive resume – 2025 Rochester Secondary College Captain, DUX of RSC and current Young Citizen of the Year for Rochester just to name a few!
Oakley has been accepted in a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at La Trobe University in Bendigo this year – he plans to commute for the course so he can continue to work part-time and play sport locally.

Payton is studying a Bachelor of Education at La Trobe University in Bendigo. She will remain living in Rochester whilst she studies, and hopes to return as a Secondary Teacher to RSC, to ‘give the next generation a really good schooling journey, just as I had!’

Remee Christian
Remee grew up on a large family cropping farm in Kotta. This year she’ll commence a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) at La Trobe University in Bendigo. Whilst she plans to relocate to Bendigo for her studies, she will still come back to Lockington regularly for part-time work, and – of course – to play netball at LBUFNC. Coming into her 7th year at the club, there’s no way she was going elsewhere!
